Where would you start to optimize the potential, performance and overall experience of employees and gain the greatest traction in the shortest period of time?
I was recently asked this question and wanted to share my thoughts as they relate to Stage 1 of The Leader Path.
Like any good fire, team optimization begins with a spark.

What is the #1 thing that unifies a team like no other?
A common purpose or goal. From the moment a player walks onto the field at training camp, the vision of celebrating a championship win not only unites the team but also ignites the hunger of possibility that drives each player forward daily with persistence, perseverance and performance excellence throughout the season. Create a clearly defined goal with a timeline to unify your team and clearly communicate it – map it out – defining how each player’s valued contribution is critical to realizing that goal for the win!
A palpably inclusive environment celebrates each player’s [diversity] unique gifts, talent, perspective, life experience and contribution while understanding that we are stronger together. As a team, our individual parts complement, leverage, and build on one another, creating a result exponentially more powerful than disparate, individual parts.
While we celebrate diversity, we must also seek out opportunities that draw us together to harness our energy, maximize our efficiency and optimize our performance.
Powerful common denominators = shared core values.
